Within seconds, they are connected to a study expert for a personalized, 10-minute chat session. These live study experts are equipped to solve even the most challenging problems, including diagrams and complex equations. Students can also access their complete tutoring chat session history for quick review.

The realization of Photo Study involved the use of cutting-edge technology. Gouveia and her team drove the aesthetic quality of the app's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), ensuring a seamless and visually appealing design. They also contributed to the interface design, mobile-first user experience vision, and visual design. The app is available on iOS, Android, and web platforms, catering to a wide range of users.

Throughout the design process, Gouveia and her team conducted extensive user research, creating user personas and delving into user psychology. They interviewed existing users and organized focus groups to gather valuable insights. One of the main challenges they faced was integrating the photo recognition software and AI while differentiating between bots and study experts. Through prototyping and testing with focus groups, they were able to refine the design and arrive at an effective solution.
